"Quiz Night at the Blacksmiths"

A very big thank you to everyone who came along to our fundraising quiz night at the Blacksmiths Arms, Offham, on Thursday 3rd October, when we raised £508 towards the conservation of old Hamsey Church.

A full house of eight teams made for some good friendly competition and, after five rounds of questions plus music and picture rounds, ‘Hamsey Hammered' were our winners, scoring 74 points.

‘Where is Alex?’ came second with 65.5 points, while ‘Ménage à Trois’ and Offham’s ‘Local Yokels’ were close behind with 60 and 59 points respectively.

Other results were: ‘Rude Sir Michael Oxlong’ 56; ‘Tom & the Massive Plankers,’ and ‘Smashing Pumpkins,’ both with 50; and ‘Birthday Princess,’ with 48 points. Well done everyone!

Special thanks go to Jazz, Drixi, and all of the Blacksmiths team who spiced up the evening with their usual wonderful hospitality.

Thanks, also, to those who donated raffle prizes, which included a nice selection of bottles, a gift box & voucher from Cheese Please, a Temple Spa gift box, a carafe, chocolates &c.

We still have a fundraising mountain to climb, so look out for another quiz evening in the spring and our summer Hamsey Church Open Day – come along and support us!
